With Triple-C Henry Cejudo not retiring from the sport of MMA, he will now compete again at UFC 292 on August 19th from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. UFC President Dana White just disclosed to ESPN that Cejudo will be facing the promotion’s #6 ranked bantamweight, Marlon Vera, who just so happens to also be coming off of a split decision loss. Betting odds quickly surfaced for this future matchup.
The bookies over at SportsBetting.ag have the betting odds for this one pretty wide. The UFC’s former 135-pound/125-pound champion is available with a hefty favored line of -325. That means betting $100 on Henry could potentially payout $130.77. As for Vera, he is on deck with a thick underdog position of +257. Throwing down a hundo on ‘Chito’ would get back $357 altogether if the upset is to happen.
It makes sense for Cejudo to be strongly favored here. He has already proven how elite he is, while Vera is still trying to create a legacy for himself. It’ll probably be close on the feet, so long as Marlon doesn’t get too far behind on the strike count, and Triple-C can avoid the big ones.Unfortunately for Chito, this could likely be a blowout if and when the fight hits the mat.
Aljamain Sterling was able to offer up a wrestling/anti-wrestling answer to beat Henry, which is something that most, including Vera, aren’t able to do. Cory Sandhagen bested Chito with volume, and that is actually something Cejudo is capable of. I’m not trying to be the mma math guy, I’m simply saying that Henry’s grappling prowess is enough cause for his line to be juiced to the gills.

UFC 292 will be headlined by a bantamweight title fight between the defending champion, Aljamain Sterling, and the undefeated in his mind, Sean O’Malley. The co-main event of the evening will be for the UFC’s women’s strawweight crown when the champ, Weili Zhang, defends against her heavy-handed challenger, Amanda Lemos. Also on the UFC 292 card, former middleweight champion Chris Weidman returns after his nasty leg break to take on Brad Tavares.
